Issue 02: First Year Authors
Taking an expository writing course is a rite of passage for Harvard’s first-year students. In the course they develop an effective writing process; grapple with audience and context; and above all learn to write ethical, evidence-based, thesis-driven essays. That learning process continues throughout students’ college years and beyond, but we celebrate the progress in writing many of them achieve in their Expos courses. We feature here a few of the excellent examples of student work and the thoughts of their authors on the process that led to these arguments.
